Hello from my corner of the art world.

I have drawn for as long as I can remember. My earliest memories are of my mother encouraging me as she drew or painted on any available surface!

My professional career was teaching art in Grammar and Comprehensive schools in South Shields in the North East of England, but not until I retired from that world did I have the time to pursue painting for myself.

I use a variety of media but my main interest in recent years has been in acrylics and acrylic inks. These give the brilliant colours which excite me and the inks, especially, allow the delicacy of watercolours while the full-bodied acrylics often have the vibrancy and richness more often associated with oils.They are particularly suited to the floral subjects I have been concentrating on of late.

My paintings are mostly small-format and miniatures but I have recently been moving toward larger-scale works.
